Spalted Beech Fighter
Here is a style knife I have not made in a while. Every now and then I think a maker should re-visit some different styles to remain honest! This is a nicely done Fighter for which I forged down some large stock 80CrV. This is basically European cutlery steel that has been around a long time. Its popularity is increasing aastronomically. It's some tough stuff.I also gave it a handrubbed finish - something I've not done in a while.I picked up the Spalted Beech handle material in Atlanta this year at the 2021 Blade Show. It's very unique.I made the take-down fittings from my dwindling stash of 1903 wrought iron. The video goes into detail of all the aspects of this knife.I am also employing new leather techniques, the first of which is used on this sheath. Or, rather - IN the sheath.
