Folks, thanks for visiting my "Knife Gallery" pages!
Here you will find knives that represent the type of knives
I like to make and that are now in the hands of my treasured Customers!
Please feel free to refer to them when discussing your new knife
from
Andersen Forge!
-------------------------------------------------------------

African Blackwood "Chairman"!
$475.00
SOLD!!
This 5160 forged knife should be a real performer!
With full convex grind, and fully hardened and triple tempered blade, she should happily carry out the toughest task.
Really nice piece of Stabilized African Blackwood from
Alpha Knife Supply.
Stainless steel fittings, in a take-down configuration.
Sheath made to last as long as the knife!!

African Blackwood "Chairman"
Chairman with Sheath
Spalted Maple "Companion"

SOLD!
Right here is about the most bizarre handle material I've ever worked with. It just wasn't like other highly figured material. Throughout the shaping process, the piece litterally changed constantly! How it ended up looking, is not how it started out looking!
It was a lot of fun.
I bought this and another piece like it from Peter Martin, and knife making friend of mine, and I'm glad I did.
The take-down fittings are hot blued, which I did to accentuate the black spalted markings in the Maple.
I selectively hardened the 5160 blade that I forged down from 1 inch stock and gave a REALLY deep etch.
I made a knife similar to this one last year that I called my "Companion" and this is a slight variation on that theme.

Sambar Stag and Satin Stainless
SOLD!
This knife was an exercise in "Freedom" - my freedom!
I just wanted to create a Stag handled Take-down Every day use knife.
This is the result.
I had this rather small piece of Premium Sambar Stag on my bench just waiting to be used, but it didn't have a home!  I chose to not use a ferrule/spacer in front of the handle to shorten the grip area.
This almost demands the "choke-up" grip, with the forefinger in front of the small oval guard.
It is VERY comfortable in the hand.
This knife would be a GREAT FRIEND!

Sambar Stag and Satin Stainless!
African Blackwood Hunter
African Blackwood Hunter
SOLD!
I really had some fun with this one! Not only was this a truly FLAWLESS
piece of African Blackwood, but the selective hardening process I utilized on the blade was exactly like I planned it and the etching shows the different hardening zones very well.
Created in my take-down configuration for the discriminating hunter!
Heavy leather sheath included.

Recurve Bowie with
Cottonwood Burl!

SOLD!

I forged this Recurve style Take-down Bowie
from heavy 5160 stock. I then gave it a Selective Hardening, leaving
the upper spine area soft.
The Stabilized Cottonwood Burl Handle really surprised me!
As I continued to work the piece down, more and more
character continued to expose itself.
The mild steel Take-down fittings, faceted and selectively polished, are hot-blued for
long-lasting protection!
All in all, a knife that has pleased me as much as any I have EVER made!

Bubinga Hunter
Bubinga Hunter

SOLD!

On this Andersen Forge Hunter, I selectively hardened the blade. This method requires me to harden only the working portion of the knife and leave the top spine area relatively soft to prevent breakage.
The blade has been etched to show the differential temper
The handle was contsructed for a piece of stabilized Curly Bubinga.
The blades is 5" long, and the knife is 9 3/4" overall length.

SOLD!
Belt Knife for a Navy Officer!
I just had a customer whose son received an award for performance of Duty.
I was honored to have commissioned this knife.
Good stout 5160 forged blade with full convex grind for the long haul!
Canvas Micarta handle and stainless fittings.
(Armed Service Discount Applied)

Bakelite Every Day Carry!!

SOLD!

Remember Bakelight? Well, I got some! With the help of another Knifemaker, I was able to acquire enough of the good ol' time Bakelite to make about 12 knives. This, coupled with a hot-blued mild steel guard, and a take-down assembly, make this an Every Day Carry to be proud of!

Bakelite Ever Day Carry!
Bubinga Belt Knife
Bubinga Belt Knife
SOLD!
This knife is a little larger than my regular hunting knives. More along the line of what could be called a "Utility" knife. You could get the entire Elk, quartered up, on horse-back, back to camp and butchered for the trip home with this
ONE KNIFE!
I made it in my normal Take-down style with a stinless guard and finial.
The handle is a really nice piece of Stabilized Quilted Bubinga!
It literally "dances" in the Sunshine!
Comes with hand-stitched, wet-molded, heavy leather sheath.

Rados Damascus 'Every Day Carry'
Rados Damascus 'Everyday Carry'
(EDC)

SOLD!
I forged this nice Everyday Carry for a bar of Jerry Rados 512 layer Random Damascus. Jerry makes his Damascus from W2 and 203E steels.
After forging and completing the blade, I hot-blued it to bring out the damascus pattern and to help protect the steel, as bluing would protect a fine rifle!
I also blued the mild steel fittings, which I utilized in a take-down configuration.
The fabric weave in the Black Canvas Micarta handle helps to accentuate the contrast in both the blade and the handle.
This was made for a customer, but I like it so much, I plan to make one for myself!

Hot-Blued Fittings!

Stabilized Bubinga Belt Knife

SOLD!

I forged this beauty from a 7/8" W1 drill rod. The performance I got from this blade following completion was astounding!
It is a stunning Stabilized bubinga handle that almost must been seen to be appreciated. Just really gorgeous stuff!
The Take-down fittings are hot-blued for a little extra protection. Balance is directly at the junction of the guard and the handle.
It may be the last working knife a person may EVER need!
As nice a knife as I have ever made.

Bubinga Belt Knife - W1 Steel
Hot-blued Fittings - Take-down Assembly!
Amboyna Fighting Bowie

Amboyna Fighting Bowie!

SOLD!

I forged this Bowie from my traditional 1" square 5160.  This blade came out as well as any knife I have ever made. It is nicely rubbed out to a beautiful satin finish.

The handle is premium Stabilized Amboyna Burl, which has been faceted to match the butt cap.

All hardware has been file-worked! Coin edge guard, fluted ferrule and faceted butt cap. The flutes and facets are polished, and the larger surfaces are satin finished.
All pieces, including the finial, are mild steel and are hot-blued.

Comes with an Andersen Forge stitched logo carrying case and hot-blued take-down "wrench"!

All of this in a Take-down configuration!
